Details: Are you looking for a way to celebrate Earth Day this year? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!

Join us at the Pokagon State Park Nature Center on April 26th from 2-4:30 pm to pull Garlic Mustard! Garlic mustard is an invasive plant that takes over the forest floor in the spring. It grows aggressively and often outcompetes our native plants. By removing this plant, it makes room for native species to grow and thrive!

Please wear long pants, shoes you don’t mind getting muddy, gardening gloves, and bring a water bottle with you!

At this event, you can expect to learn all about Garlic Mustard, what makes it invasive, and how to successfully remove it.

We are so excited to host our first ever Weed Wrangle at Pokagon State Park, and build a community of people who want to make the Earth a better place. We hope to hold an event like this every month, so be on the lookout for upcoming events throughout the year!

Please contact Aimee Wentworth at the Pokagon State Park Nature center by calling (260) 833-3506 or emailing her at awentworth@dnr.in.gov to register. A Volunteer Agreement will be available and required by each participant at the time of the event.

Registration is Required.
